What will you do?
As an EHS Specialist II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be responsible for ensuring workplace safety, environmental compliance, and employee wellbeing. You will develop, implement and maintain comprehensive EHS programs while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and functional managers. Working collaboratively across departments, you will contribute to our commitment to safety through proactive risk management, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualification:

 • Diploma/Degree in Engineering, preferably in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or related scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Engineering)

• Registered Workplace, Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)

• Preferably Certified as Fire Safety Manager

• Certified Biosafety Lab/Biosafety Coordinator is an advantage

 

Experience:
• preferably in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, Life Science or laboratory environments 

• Strong knowledge of applicable EHS regulations, standards, E&HS management systems and best practices relevant to OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001/45001 and MOM Workplace Safety & Health
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions
• Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs
• Knowledge in industrial hygiene monitoring, hazardous materials management, and emergency response
• Ability to analyze EHS data and metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to work independently with all levels of the organization and handle multiple priorities

• Must be able to conduct facility inspections and respond to emergencies, including some physical activity
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
