The position collaborates with the Division EHS Manager to support EHS functions at all NVH locations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES + Assist with the development, documentation and improvement, and audit of plant environmental, health and safety systems to ensure conformance and effectiveness. + Determine plant environmental, safety and health requirements and analyze for compatibility with corporate practices. + Maintain plant environmental, health, and safety image through interface with appropriate personnel to clarify environmental, health, and safety requirements. + Resolve environmental, health and safety issues in a professional, timely, and effective manner. + Complete EHS-related training of personnel and development of appropriate training materials. + Ensure that best practices, incidents, near misses, etc. are communicated between facilities following established guidelines. + Lead activities in support of Kaizen, Safety Star Point Teams, Emergency Response Teams and other project teams. + Complete industrial hygiene air sampling per matrix or as needed. + Manage hazardous and residual waste shipments, inspections, and training. + Assist with regulatory required environmental reporting, including hazardous/residual waste, air emissions, waste water, and others + Ability to travel to all NVH division locations (up to 25%) COMPETENCIES + The ability to regularly engage with shop floor employees on specific EHS issues. + Working knowledge of industry safety, OSHA, EPA, and other state-specific agency regulations and environmental system standards and their application to an industrial environment. + Ability to effectively communicate environmental, health and safety concepts, plans and technical data. + In-depth knowledge of Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Publisher) + Fluent in English, both written and verbal WORK EXPERIENCE + 3+ years in the environmental, health and safety field with demonstrated ability to assume increasing responsibility. EDUCATION REQUIRED + Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related discipline. PREFERRED CREDENTIALS Education: + Master’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related discipline. Certifications and Training: + Professionally recognized safety or environmental certification (ASP, GSP, CSP, CIH) + RCRA Hazardous Waste Management training in accordance with 40 CFR 262.34. + DOT training in accordance with 49 CFR 172.700-704. + 40 hour initial and 8-hour refresher training in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 (HAZWOPER). + ISO 14001 experience. + Knowledge of SAP, Benchmark Gensuite, HumanTech and/or other EHS-related software. This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
