Summary: \n\nProvide Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) support to the team, Operations and Pharmaceutical Development Services (PDS). \n\n \n\nEssential Functions: \n\nSupport the Industrial Hygiene (IH) Program by assisting with site industrial hygiene testing \n\nConduct sound level testing and noise dosimetry studies \n\nSupport the management of IH equipment and calibrations \n\nConduct qualitative & quantitative respiratory fit testing \n\nPerform office & industrial ergonomic assessments \n\nMaintain the New Substance Notification Regulation (NSNR) tracking database, and Site Chemical Inventory \n\nWork with relevant departments within the organization on containment and combustible dust projects. \n\nConducting various site health & safety audits such as guarding and lockout/tagout. \n\nDevelop EHS Training Programs \n\nSupport the delivery of the EHS Orientation for new hires \n\nAssist with the roll out of other site programs related to environmental sustainability, industrial hygiene and site safety. \n\nSupport the EHS Department with other related initiatives & activities. \n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS \n\n \n\nEducation: \n\nPursuing a Bachelor's or master’s degree in environmental, Health and Safety. \n\n \n\nExperience: \nNovice to 3 years \n\nEquivalency: \n\nEquivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. \n\n \n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: \n\nAble to work in a fast-paced team environment. Previous experience conducting presentations / training. High integrity for dealing with confidential information. Demonstrated professionalism. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with the English Language. \n\n \nStandards and Expectations:    \n\nFollow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Work collaboratively with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems SOP’s and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.  Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems in order to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient conscious at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines in a proactive manner.  Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in related field.     \n \n\nPhysical Requirements: \n\nLight physical effort and fatigue. Walks, sits or stands for limited periods. May require occasional equipment operation including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for limited duration. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odours, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
