**Job Summary** **:**
The Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for supporting and delivering all Occupational Safety requirements incl. but not limited to EHS by Design, Machine Safety, Electrical Safety, Construction Safety, Contractor Mgmt., Warehouse Safety, Safe Fleet and Emergency Response to ensure a high level of EH&S performance for Johnson & Johnson MedTech. Under general supervision, this individual provides leadership and technical guidance to management and employees for the establishment and maintenance of robust processes to identify, evaluate and control risk in the workplace.
This position ensures that top management and employees are following the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, and that company policies and procedures are being followed.
**Key Responsibilities** **:**
**As the Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability Specialist, you will:**
+ Review new regulations from outside agencies and new Johnson and Johnson worldwide environmental health and safety policies and procedures against current site programs and practices for gaps and/or continuous improvement.
+ Ensure compliance with relevant environmental permits, and internal enforcement involving compliance with all current and forthcoming environmental regulations for the facility. Reports on issues with regulatory agencies to local management.
+ Communicate with outside partners or local government agencies
+ Monitor EHSS risk and impact review for new/changed materials, equipment or process, are conducting on time following the MOC process.
+ Develop and maintain written procedures to align with OSHA/EPA regulations, Environmental Management System ISO 14001 Requirements and Internal Standards.
+ Work closely with the EHSS Site Lead to communicate, update and implement corporate EHSS policy. Communicates relevant federal/state regulations/issues.
+ Conduct periodic review/inspection/audit visits, reporting observations and recommendations to EHSS management. Investigates and reports regarding safety and environmental incidents.
+ Perform routine EH&S assessments utilizing J&J Program Reviews, Assurance Audit, and Self Assessments to identify program specific deficiencies and areas of risk.
+ Assist in the site’s EHSS assessments and specific issue-related corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as directed by EHSS management.
+ Work as integral support of site projects by providing technical support and working with the team on resolving potential risks and issues
+ Evaluate, plan, and implement EHSS training and awareness programs. Develop and implement training packages for on-line and/or classroom training.
+ Develop, track, and report key performance indicators and metrics.
**Qualifications**
**Education:**
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering is preferred.
**Experience and Skills:**
**Required:**
+ Experience in EHS is required.
+ Computer knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required. Proficiency in Excel tools is required.
+ EHSS auditing experience is preferred.
+ Experience in identifying, evaluating and controlling EHSS risks in the workplace is required.
+ Experience in report creation, generation, and record-keeping systems is required.
+ Must have knowledge / Training on DOT, IATA (Dangerous Goods), RCRA, EPA, GHS, SPCC, CWA, and OSHA Regulations, Clean Water Act / Resource Conservation and Recovery Act / Globally Harmonized System are required.
+ ISO 14001 Training and experience is required.
**Preferred:**
+ 3-5 years of proven experience in Safety or Environmental, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
**Other:**
+ This position could require up to 10% travel, both domestic and/or international.
+ Standard hours are 8:00 am-5:00 pm, but may require off-shift hours, including weekends, as needed by the business and for site related emergencies.
+ Physical requirements may include working from ladders, elevated surfaces, platforms, high energy sources, controlled chemical substances, controlled infectious agents, and high noise areas.
