Role Definition

To serve as an individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance.

Responsibilities

Identify common safety, health, and environmental hazards in operations and define protection guidelines.

Ensure completion of EHS training in line with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.

Audit safety, health, and environmental programs for compliance with company standards and local regulations.

Monitor performance reports to detect trends and alert management to potential issues.

Execute SFMEA and safety risk assessments for operational process changes.

Manage Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) activities and safety walks.

Ensure safe job procedures are up-to-date, communicated, acknowledged, and consistently followed.

Support implementation of safety playbook actions, incident investigations (e.g., ergonomic assessments), and emergency drills.

Participate in incident investigation reviews and follow up on safety action items.

Input monthly facility safety metrics and notify regional EHS of significant incidents or inspections.

Facilitate the publication of safety alerts and ensure weekly safety topics are communicated.

Serve as the main onsite contact for contractors and local compliance inspections.

Perform other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

Three (3) years of progressively responsible Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or Safety experience.

Previous experience working within a manufacturing/distribution environment.

Ability to perform complex assignments.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to utilize and develop data management systems.

Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers.

Strong collaboration skills.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite and tools.

Lean and/or 6 Sigma Black Belt Certification/Experience.

English skills

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
