EHS Professional

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

At least 1 year of environmental, health or safety experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

Essential Skills:

Demonstrated professional with passion for change and relentless focus on execution.

Knowledge of applicable Federal and State EHS related regulations and procedures.

Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and human relations skills.

Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes an incomplete set of data.

Critical skills include: Execution, attention to detail, initiative, conflict resolution, customer focus, collaboration, building ownership and commitment, establishing a direction, drive for change, gaining organization support and tenacity.

 

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'). Key Responsibilities of this position include:

EHS Engineer will be the face of Safety and Environmental oversight to staff and is expected to be on the plant floor regularly.

Will make occasional plant visits on off shifts, including nights and weekends

Assume the day-to-day functions of safety training and train all new employees

Lead the FSI weekly and monthly internal meetings and reviews; assist with location fatality prevention efforts including helping to lead deployment and execution of key fatality prevention elements and coaching location leaders.

Analyze injury and incident data and assist line management in the implementation of focused injury reduction efforts. Provide expertise to proactively address injury reduction efforts.

Participate in injury/incident investigations to assist in identifying root cause analysis and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.

Assist with the facility’s industrial hygiene program including execution of IH sampling plans, the administration of IH databases and employee exposure records, hazardous material management, ergonomics oversight.

Manage all environmental issues, regulatory reports and permits as related to following disciplines: Air, Wastewater, Storm Water, Chemical, and Waste Disposal/Recycling.

Lead environmental permit review requirements to maintain compliance and interface with regulatory agencies.    

Heavily involved with the crane, mobile, electrical, confined space and FSI ASATs and SPA functions

Maintain all records and documents as necessary 

Other duties as assigned
