Overview To lead the plant EHS agenda, incorporating system development and process implementation whilst ensuring compliance with all local laws and PepsiCo standards of GEHSMS including safety, health and environment. The role designs, implements and stewards the EHS procedures and programs that prevent incident, injury and illnesses in employees that may be caused by physical, chemical, biological or ergonomic factors. The incumbent will assist the EHS manager in implementation of GEHSMS standards, Project EHS lifecycle, data analytics, designing of relevant campaigns, visualization and branding of EHS newsletters etc. Safety Expert, Advocate, Leader and Ambassador • Serve as the subject matter expert and then manage the implementation and ongoing operation of Global and Sector Driven EHS programs. • Model and promote an organizational culture that fosters positive EHS behaviors and practices through effective design and implementation of programs and campaigns. • Participate in workplace activities to raise the quality of EHS input, including JRAs, incident investigation and risk management. • Provide EHS and technical support for general queries and report on EHS performance and best practices. Responsibilities • To lead and deliver the Multan Plant Safety and Environment Agenda in order to support the Pakistan MU overall EHS business agenda to achieve transformational EHS. • To provide leadership and planning for the EHS Integrated Business Plan, Annual Operating Plan and key risk mitigation. • Provide support to all levels of the business, including the Executive Leadership Team to update their knowledge of Health and Safety matters, to understand the operations being carried out by the business, and the hazards and risks associated with the operations, and to ensure that the business has, and uses, processes for complying with duties or obligations under the relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice. • Implementation of the PepsiCo’s Global Health & Safety Management Standards (GEHSMS) as per Sector guidelines to achieve the desired score of 950+. • Sustain ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 certification by fulfilling all the requirements and providing guidance and support to other functions. • Develop and manage the Annual EHS Budget for the site including CAPEX and OPEX. • Conduct Self-assessment and internal audits against diagnostics of EHS, Technical and Environmental Standards, develop action plans, monitor & report progress to management. • Ensure through audits, assessments & inspections that all major risks at Multan plant are identified and evaluate all existing and potential threats arising as a result of routine/non routine activities & ensure actions plans in place to mitigate the risks and improve performance • Implementation of MyEHS modules for all applicable standards. • Achieve Environmental compliance against PEQs & PI standards. • Be the coordinator for Multan Plant legal and regulatory compliances. • To ensure sustaining leading indicators like focused line walks, Near miss reporting, Behavioral based observations etc. • To ensure site meets all global and regionally defined target like LTIR, RIR along with all other leading and lagging KPI’s • Ensure MESS compliances for all new and legacy projects, expansions and modifications for Multan Plant. • Ensure that due diligence is adhered to on behalf of PepsiCo regarding waste management. • Accountable to ensure that all EHS training, including refresher courses, are executed for the required as per GEHSMS and site risk assessments. • Act as the PepsiCo legal representative responsible for Safety, Health and Environmental affairs. • Ensure compliance of Occupational Health and Safety procedures and statutory regulations • Manage the wastewater operation including maintenance, quality and discharge regulations. This includes running of two waste water plants for process and product wastewater, ultra reuse and MVRE technologies. • Manage site Project Safety as per PepsiCo EHS Construction Safety Standards • Manage development and facilitate execution of recommendations of FM global to sustain HPR status for the site. • Manager risk assessment and co-ordinate execution risks for third party potato storage and co-packer facilities. • Follow through with Multan leadership to ensure all company employees and contractors fully understand the procedures they must follow to safeguard the environment, health & safety during their working activities. • Maintaining good working relationships with Local and Government regulatory bodies like Environmental Protection Agency and Factories Inspectors, Ministry of Environment, Health laboratories to keep abreast of industry related laws, regulations and changing requirements. • Apart from the above, the employee is expected to perform other accountabilities, time to time assigned by the manager. Qualifications • Engineering degree (Preferably Mechanical \ Chemical \ Electrical) or BE or MS in environmental engineering • Experience and knowledge of EHS local legislations, API’s etc. • Sound knowledge of EHS policies and procedures & be sensitive to the National environment and health & safety laws and legal issues. Certifications: • NEBOSH IGC (Preferably) • Lead Auditor OHSAS 45001/ISO 14001 (Preferably) • Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis (any training or certification) • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) /Certified Safety professional (CSP) is a plus
