Job Summary
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and governmental regulations. This role provides leadership for EHS initiatives, drives continuous improvement, and fosters a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, interview, and hire members of the EHS team.
Communicate selection criteria to recruiters and hiring teams.
Monitor turnover, identify root causes, and implement improvements.
Identify individual and team strengths and development needs; create and maintain training programs (Environmental Management, Safety & Health, Emergency Plans, Business Continuity).
Coach, mentor, and develop succession plans for the EHS function.
Set clear, measurable goals and evaluate performance against departmental objectives.
Provide regular feedback, coaching, and recognition to team members.
Performance & Communication
Facilitate communication across the department, encouraging idea sharing and collaboration.
Adapt communication style to suit diverse audiences and influence adherence to EHS procedures.
Promote EHS awareness using engaging tools and strategies.
Strategic & Functional Management
Align EHS strategies with site and work cell business objectives.
Provide updates to Facilities and Operations leadership on EHS performance.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency without compromising safety or compliance.
Provide cost trend analysis and recommendations for improvement.
Technical Responsibilities
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using trend analysis and metrics.
Evaluate and enhance data collection methods for EHS reporting.
Ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient and compliant.
Implement EHS activities in support of ISO 14001 certification.
Chair the Safety Committee and ensure proactive hazard prevention.
Manage large-scale EHS projects from planning to completion.
Share best practices across Jabil facilities to promote standardization.
Stay current on environmental regulations and industry trends.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or related field preferred.
Minimum 10 years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001 standards and systems.
Ability to analyze and interpret data, solve complex problems, and develop practical solutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email applications.
Strong communication, leadership, and change management skills.
Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for environmental, health, and safety programs.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, large projects, and cross-functional teams.
