The Senior EHS Safety Specialist (internally known as Environmental Health & Safety Manager) will lead safety and environmental programs located in Richmond, VA and support multiple facilities, driving improved safety and environmental performance through thorough and accurate incident reviews, implementing programs to increase safety awareness and compliance, and ensuring safety meetings and training are meaningful and engaging. Provide oversight to ensure proper operation of environmental control system.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION Minimum Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, science, or EHS specialty, or equivalent work experience.Demonstrated EHS Program development and implementation.Minimum of 5+ years’ EHS job-related experience in a chemical handling environment.Minimum of 2 years exerience of managing EHS program in a chemical handling environment or equivalentFamiliarity with safety and environmental laws and regulations required.The ability to effectively lead meetings with participants at all levels of the organizationExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Computer skills: Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.Corrective action software experience Expected travel – less than 20 percent.
DESIRED SKILLSAuditor experience is a plus.Experience in chemical processing environment preferred. PSM experience preferred.Experience in completing regulatory reports and sustainability metrics and reports required (Air emissions, Hazardous Waste, Tier II, TRI, etc.)Completion of a recognized environmental or safety professional certification program a plus.
