Position Summary
This is an onsite role located in Lancaster, NY
Parker Hannifin is looking for talented and driven student leaders to strengthen its Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs and play an integral role in the current and future success of the organization. This individual will be tasked with supporting all aspects of environmental management, occupational safety, and environmental, health and safety compliance. This is a hands-on role where you will gain valuable experience in EHS management; that can eventually lead to the Parker Hannifin EHS Leadership Development Program or an entry level position in an EHS career at Parker Hannifin.
SUPERVISION
The EHS intern will report directly to the EHS Site Leader. The EHS Intern will work with different levels of the organization, and with different functional areas to accomplish assigned tasks. The working environment will be a mix working in an office setting and working in a production environment.
Responsibilities
Major Duties:
• Update of the sites Chemical Management program.
• Assist in preparation for sites future VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) Certification.
• Revamp the locations contractor safety program.
Minor duties:
• Assist with the implementation of updated policies and procedures as they are rolled out.
• Assist in Lancaster rapid kaizens as a EHS representative.
Potential Responsibilities:
• Deploy, support, or assist with maintaining EHS programs and procedures to meet business unit EHS objectives and targets with an emphasis on Safety and Accident Prevention, EHS Regulatory Compliance, and Resource Conservation.
• Deploy, support, or assist with maintaining applicable EHS management systems, which may include Environmental Management System and a Compliance Assurance program.
• Deploy, support, or maintain EHS reporting, which includes performance against targets and goals, regulatory reporting, and corporate business unit and customer required reporting.
• Support or maintain an EHS training program for applicable EHS training required across the business unit from employee to leader.
• Deploy, support, or maintain EHS cultural programs.
Qualifications
Education
• Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in:
o Environmental Science/Engineering
o Occupational Health & Safety
o Industrial/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering
o Public Health or related field
• Completion of at least sophomore year of college with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Skills & Competencies
• Basic understanding of EHS concepts (risk, hazards, controls, PPE, environmental aspects).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels.
• Self motivated, organized, and willing to be present on the shop floor/field as needed.
Working Conditions
• Primarily on site role in a manufacturing, warehouse, or similar operational environment.
• Regular presence in production/field areas with required PPE.
• May involve standing, walking, and climbing stairs or ladders during inspections and audits.

Competitive Compensation
+ Pay Range: $14.85/hr to $24.75/hr
+ No benefit plan eligibility
