· The Environmental Health Safety Compliance Operator performs duties as directed by the Environmental, Health and Safety Department.
· Performs periodic inspections at the direction of the Environmental, Health and Safety Department to assure maintenance of compliance with applicable OSHA regulations.
· Compiles findings of such inspection and follow-up to ensure timely completion.
· Performs limited industrial hygiene sampling as directed by the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
· Enters findings into database, provides input as to corrective action, and tracks corrective action to completion.
· At the direction of the Environmental, Health and Safety Department, investigates, collects data, assesses and makes recommendations regarding employee issues relating to environmental, health and safety concerns.
· Enter such information into the database and tracks to completion.
· May issue confined space permits as directed by the Environmental, Health and Safety Department.
· Assists in the identification and evaluation of confined spaces.
· Updates and maintains the confined space permit tracking database.
· Provides necessary assistance as directed by the Environmental, Health and Safety Department to maintain the company’s level of compliance in EHS related issues.
· Repairs and maintains all equipment.
· Wastewater:
o Follows Equipment Operating Instructions (EOIs) to treat-process wastewater to meet mandated levels.
o Operates both manual and computer-controlled wastewater treatment systems using the following equipment and procedures:
§ Atomic absorption analysis
§ pH meters
§ Conductivity meters
§ Wet chemistry analytical procedures
§ Colorimetric tests
§ Other analytical equipment as required for compliance assurance.
o Performs sampling and chain-of-custody documentation of wastewater, and other media to obtain chemical analysis.
· Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility:
o Complies with RCRA regulations to remain compliant with the Part “B” Permitted Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility includes temporary storing and shipping hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials; and maintaining associated records including preparations and signing of shipping manifests.
· Stormwater:
o Perform inspections of facilities as detailed by Stormwater regulations.
o Maintain area spill response equipment in a ready mode at all times.
· Hazardous Waste Management:
o Performs site inspections of hazardous storage areas.
o Provides assistance to Environmental Coordinators as required to maintain compliance with hazardous waste management regulations.
· Air:
o Inspect operations releasing air emissions, i.e., painting, degreasing, etc., to verify compliance with air regulations and provide instructions for production personnel to maintain compliance.
· Underground Storage Tanks, Above Storage Tanks, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC):
o Inspects tanks and containers as required by the site SOCC.
o Inspects above ground storage tanks and underground storage tanks for compliance with regulations.

Tools Equipment Used:

Experience Other Requirements:
· Class B water and/or wastewater state certification.
· Five (5) years of qualifying water and/or wastewater experience.
