We are seeking an EHS and Sustainability Specialist (m/f/d) who is passionate about being hands-on and leading EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) and sustainability initiatives at our production site in Delft, NL and who will create strong partnerships with management and associates surrounding EHS culture and a focus on sustainability.

The EHS and Sustainability Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing site specific EHS programs in compliance with global and country specific statutory requirements incl. requirements of the Corporate EHS Department. The primary accountability lies with our site in the Netherlands, while also supporting broader company-wide initiatives when needed. This position is part of our Global Quality and EHS function and located onsite in Delft (NL).

In this role, a typical day will look like:

Ensure compliance with Dutch, EU, and global statutory EHS requirements, including those set by the Corporate EHS Department

In the role of the Prevention Officer identify and implement site-specific organizational and technical EHS measures to meet legal and operational standards

Lead development and execution of site sustainability programs focused on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation aligned with corporate goals

Track local sustainability KPIs and coordinate inputs for the company’s sustainability report to Corporate EHS

Manage site-specific emergency response plans and readiness procedures

Support the EHS management system in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, including documentation and execution of internal audits

Conduct risk assessments, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in site safety performance

Lead incident investigations, internal audits, and interactions with local authorities and auditors

Coordinate and conduct employee EHS training while fostering a proactive safety mindset at all operational levels

Collaborate with local cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into daily operations

Provide guidance and support to other company sites to ensure alignment and compliance with EHS and sustainability systems

Participate in global working groups or initiatives when relevant

Proactively identify and champion process improvement opportunities related to EHS and sustainability

 

​The essential requirements of the job include:  

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or other applicable fields

4+ years’ experience in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field of a discrete manufacturing company

Working knowledge of EHS regulations (such as OHSA, DGUV, RIE), policies, programs, PPE,  incident investigation procedures and operating rules required.

HVK (Hogere Veiligheidskundige) certification is a plus

Knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is a plus

Fluent in Dutch and English preferred

Experience in Sustainability is a plus
