Description: 

Monday-Friday Collaborates with physicians, medical professionals and other staff to ensure the quality of care given.  Provides care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient (as defined in the unit scope of care).  Utilizes knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient's age to ensure that care provided meets the unique physical needs of the patient.  Involves appropriate parties in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of the patient as needed.

Responsibilities: 

Is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care to a specified group of patients. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Conducts routine EEG studies throughout the hospital and in the laboratory for Holy Cross Health.Prepares and performs cartography recordings/studies in the operating room as required.Communicates the patient care plan thoroughly and effectively with patients, patient families, peers, physicians, and nursing staff, maintaining the health care teams focus during and between shifts.Facilitates unit communication, initiates emergency communication.Attends and participates in hospitals and departments in services and monthly staff meetings.Documents EEG in department log.Prepares EEG for interpretation.Completes patient demographic information.Completes the EEG charges for the testing performedNotifies BioMed of equipment malfunction.Copy and fax report to the appropriate physician’s physicianMaintains inventory of supplies.

Checks and make minor repairs on equipment.Takes on-call responsibility and responds to emergencies during non-scheduled hours.Performs other duties, as assigned by department manager.Reports to the Director of Neurosciences and the Medical Director.

What you will need: 

High school diploma or equivalentPreferred six months’ experience performing non-invasive Electroencephalography procedures.Current BCLS training with recertification every two yearsExperience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with medical, nursing, and administrative staff. Any equivalent combination of education and work experience required to provide comparable knowledge skills and abilities.Able to demonstrate good ability to communicate using English language in written and verbal fashion, promoting a team approach to patient careRequired to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Pay Range $25.17 - $35.23

​Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
