Educational Clerkship Coordinator Full-Time Days

The Graduate Medical Education Department is now hiring for a highly organized and adaptable Educational Clerkship Coordinator to work onsite at our Regional Medical Center in Boise! *This position is a contracted position with the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM). The current contract is for three years, with the possibility of being renewed. This position does quality for all benefits. **Position Summary** **:** As the Educational Clerkship Coordinator, you will provide administrative support to the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) Regional Assistant Dean, onsite at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. You will be responsible for coordination of educational activities including clinical student placement for 3rd and 4th year medical students from ICOM, coordination of planned academic rotations as well as monitoring the progress and performance of students and preceptors. You will also work to ensure all facility and regulatory standards are met. **What You Will Do** **:** + Provide administrative support to the Regional Assistant Dean, including monitoring student progress and performance. + Coordinate logistics for didactic programs such as clinical case conferences, journal clubs, small group discussions, and professional development seminars. + Maintain and organize paperwork and files for students, preceptors, and the Regional Assistant Dean. + Attend team meetings and training sessions for Clerkship Coordinators. + Schedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, appointments, and travel arrangements. + Serve as a liaison between departments and external contacts representing ICOM and Saint Alphonsus. + Prepare and distribute correspondence, agendas, presentations, reports, and mail. + Develop and manage scheduling processes for hospital and ambulatory rotations, including electives. + Provide rotation schedule information and directions to students and preceptors. + Ensure student schedules comply with curriculum, policies, and procedures. + Assist preceptors with student-related concerns. + Respond to administrative inquiries via phone and email. + Ensure compliance with facility and regulatory standards for clinical placements. + Compose and distribute educational and interdepartmental materials. + Support special projects and other duties as assigned by leadership. + Order departmental supplies and coordinate meetings and educational conferences. + Maintain departmental databases and records. + Operate office equipment at an expert level. An ideal candidate will have: + An interest in working with students and the medical field; + Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills and able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. + Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Demonstrated proficiency in multi-tasking, flexibility, time management, organization, attention to detail and professionalism. + Intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications. + Knowledge of Apple products – Pages, Numbers and Keynote applications. + Outstanding customer service skills and email/phone etiquette. + Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and data with strong organization and planning skills. + Ability to interact with individuals from different cultures and the ability to professionally represent the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. **Education/Experience Requirements** **:** + High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. + 2 years of Medical Office experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting. + Previous experience in a professional healthcare environment. + Requires intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications. + Must have active driving privileges.
