**Overview**
The **Education Services Coordinator II** is responsible for the development of educational goals for NBU inpatients and the therapeutic/recreational environment on the Neurobehavioral Unit.

**Responsibilities**
1. Complete thorough review of IEP, discuss with district teachers the student’s needs during hospitalization, develop individual educational objectives to meet current IEP during admission to the Neurobehavioral Unit (NBU), assure that educational goals are incorporated into the NBU behavioral therapy sessions once given to the behavioral team through audits of treatment protocol and patient educational sessions.
2. Develop and review educational programming designed to meet individual social and recreational needs, develop guidelines to assure provision of a therapeutic environment on the NBU.
3. Conduct formal and informal adaptive skills and educational assessments. Monitor individual’s progress and modify objectives as needed.
4. Attend IEP/ARD meetings in the community. Present recommendations from the NBU educational and therapeutic staff to be incorporated into patients’ programs upon discharge from the NBU.
5. Prepare IEP recommendations. Provide planning, placement, and generalization training in coordination with the behavioral team based on knowledge of Special Education and patient’s behavioral protocols.
6. Oversees, orients, and trains direct care staff in the implementation of patient specific recreational activities and objectives.
7. Train new Clinical Assistants on the goals of therapeutic recreation programs of the NBU.
8. Train patients, caregivers and staff on developmentally appropriate interactions by performing/role playing intended behaviors and interactions.
9. Participate in data collection for ongoing projects as assigned.
10. Attend and actively participate in interdisciplinary and departmental meetings and/or in-service education as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**EDUCATION:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field is required; master’s preferred.
**EXPERIENCE:**
+ Minimum of two years’ experience providing behavioral services to children with developmental disabilities is required.

USD $45,176.35/Yr.
**Maximum pay range**
USD $75,492.14/Yr.
