Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Spend time creating and reviewing high-quality K-12 English language arts curriculum and instructional materials, ensuring they align with state standards and best practices, and creating instructional resources and professional learning to support educators. + Engage regularly with district and school educators, providing guidance and support to implement effective English language arts and literacy programs. This includes assisting in the management of teacher leader advisors and external contractors. + Act as a go-to resource and state leader in English language arts, maintaining an in-depth, current knowledge of standards, curriculum, and instructional practices. You'll use this expertise to inform projects that will impact various stakeholders in education. + Work closely with colleagues across the Division of Academic Content and other LDOE teams, as well as external partners, to ensure cohesive and impactful initiatives. Your week will involve significant collaboration to deliver consistent messages and strategies to the field. + Juggle multiple projects and work streams simultaneously, overseeing the development and execution of programs that elevate science and environmental education outcomes for all students. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.
