Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $72,200.00 - $108,200.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Automotive is currently looking for an Editor II, Digital Operations to join our team.  This is a remote, work-from-home position. 

The Role: 

We’re reinventing automotive journalism - and you’ll help lead the charge.  As Editor II, Digital Operations, you’ll own a key topic segment, blending AI, multimedia, and storytelling to deliver clarity in a noisy world.  The ideal candidate brings strong editorial judgment, digital fluency, and a passion for creating content that informs and engages a broad audience across web and media channels.

Responsibilities: 

Own Your Beat 

Manage the content plan for your assigned topic segment. 

Ensure all content is multi-media first, accurate, and timely. 

Keep your research center up to date - always. 

Focus on Quality and Governance 

Copy-edit and fact-check model coverage articles and videos across formats. 

Use AI tools to enhance the quality of evergreen articles in your topic segment. 

Embrace Smart Brevity: say more with less. 

Grow the Brand 

Build a social media presence that reflects your work. 

Collaborate with other editors to elevate content quality. 

Suggest new formats and storytelling techniques. 

Think Like a Journalist, Act Like a Builder 

Monitor trends and integrate them into your work. 

Cultivate sources and relationships for better access. 

Use analytics to inform decisions and improve performance. 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years’ experience in a related field.  The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field.   

Strong writing, editing, and multimedia skills. 

Proficiency with AI tools, digital platforms, and publishing technology. 

Experience building a following on social media.

Curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset. 

Passion for cars, content, and innovation. 

Foundational skills in analytical thinking, consulting, effective presentations, and managing multiple priorities.  Skilled in data gathering and reporting. 

Foundational skills in collaborating with intent, engaging others, focusing on execution.   

Skilled in driving innovation and striving for excellence. 

Ability to travel up to 50%, which may include international destinations.
