Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
CNBC Select is seeking a talented Audience Development Editor to lead search, social and newsletter strategy to grow audience and brand awareness. CNBC Select is a recommendation vertical devoted to providing rigorous reviews and advice on personal finance products so our readers can make informed decisions.
This role is responsible for developing and executing innovative digital strategies to attract new readers and engage existing audiences. The Editor will manage a dedicated SEO analyst and associate social media editor and collaborate with reporters and vertical editors on newsletter best practices. This person must be comfortable analyzing performance data to make informed decisions and optimize commerce content across multiple platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Optimize editorial content across platforms for engagement, followers, clicks and conversions
+ Manage the Audience Development team, gauge performance and implement best practices
+ Shape brand voice and apply editorial standards across platforms
+ Pull performance data and create reports for larger editorial team
+ Collaborate with Select’s newsroom and compliance partners
+ Work across CNBC departments on linking, sharing and promotion strategies
+ Stay up to date on best practices for SEO, social posting and follower acquisition

Additional Requirements:

+ Understanding of and interest in personal finance journalism
+ 5+ years of experience in digital journalism, with at least 3 years focused on audience development
+ People management skills
+ Experience working on SEO strategy, newsletters and social posting
+ Demonstrated project management and communication skills
+ Passionate about social media and audience growth
+ Ability to write and edit engaging, clean copy under a tight deadline

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
