We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated eDiscovery Paralegal to join our growing eDiscovery Team in the Legal Operations Department.
The eDiscovery Paralegal will provide direct support for Schwab’s litigation, regulatory, and internal investigation matters, with a focus on hands-on execution and monitoring of eDiscovery tasks and processes. Bringing strong organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail, the ideal candidate will excel at supporting eDiscovery operations by managing records, coordinating with stakeholders and vendors, tracking project milestones, and staying current with developments in eDiscovery law and technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and maintain detailed records and logs for eDiscovery activities, including custodian lists, legal hold notices, ESI collections, and production histories.Coordinate and schedule meetings with internal and external stakeholders regarding eDiscovery processes.Coordinate with eDiscovery vendors for data processing, hosting, and review services as needed.Track and maintain key operational data points.Provide support for internal teams on eDiscovery processes, policies, and technology tools.Assist with compiling responsive documents and information for attorneys and outside counsel.Monitor eDiscovery project timelines, track milestones, and follow up with project stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met.Stay informed of changes in eDiscovery law, best practices, and technology, recommending process improvements as appropriate.Support special projects and other legal operations duties as assigned by the Director of eDiscovery or the Legal Operations team. To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program strongly preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with at least 1 year focused on eDiscovery in a law firm or in-house legal department, ideally in the financial services sector.Proficient in the use of eDiscovery platform Relativity and litigation support tools.Demonstrated understanding of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, especially as they relate to the phases of the EDRM. Knowledge of privacy laws, data retention, and information governance best practices preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to interact with attorneys, IT personnel, business partners, and outside vendors.Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
High degree of professionalism, discretion, and adherence to confidentiality.Experience working in the financial services industry or a highly regulated environment preferred.Certification in eDiscovery (e.g., ACEDS, CEDS) is a plus.
