The Billing EDI Analyst II is a subject matter expert and billing EDI liaison who works with payers and vendors to ensure the construction and transmission of claims with accurate billing content to permit successful adjudication

Responsibilities:

List the core tasks and responsibilities associated with the role.

Leads complex projects and issue resolution effortsTrains and mentors Billing EDI AnalystsLiaison with payers and vendors as well as reimbursement analysts and Payer Solutions membersEducate colleagues to ensure successful transmission of required billing dataConduct detailed data analysis of submissions issues and defects while using multiple sources to identify resolutionPrompt pursuit and escalation as appropriate of payer/vendor issues with claim submission successIdentify alternate paths when vendor/payer relationships change or when vendor issues prohibit successful claim adjudication timelyDetermine appropriate test cases required for evidence of successful transmission of billing data; requires understanding of payer/vendor specific business and platformsReview 837 files and payer response files (TA1, 999, 277 and proprietary) to validate quality and appropriate outcomes of EDI transmissionConvey updates to management and business stakeholders on issues and project statusMaintain payer and vendor confidence in Labcorp and staffSupport colleagues when there are scheduling conflictsIdentify problems within established timeframes to determine and communicate impactDetermine and communicate solutions to roadblocksInteract and collaborate with team members at all levels, including senior managementAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyWill work independently, as well as in a team environmentBuild and cultivate strong working relationships over the phone and through emailSupport internal department projects and functional areasMaintain accurate and up to date documents such as logs, reports, spreadsheetsDevelop process/documentation material that is easily understood by end users (SOPs)Participate in projects, meetings, and training activities

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

> 5 years of billing or EDI experience preferredKnowledge of 837, 999, TA1, 277 filesKnowledge of medical billingMentoring/Training experience

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written skills are essential to communicate with others located throughout a wide geographic area primarily via conference calls and emailIntermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)Ability to communicate complex procedures clearly and conciselyStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate, recommend and develop processesFlexibility and the capacity to manage and adapt to changing priorities quicklyStrong attention to detail and time managementProblem-solving and organizational skillsExcellent customer service with ability to maintain composure and respond thoughtfully, quickly and professionally to unexpected client or vendor questions, concerns and issues

Pay Range: $60-75K    

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

. Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
