The Global Economic Research seeks an economist to join our team covering Latin America macro and policy research from our São Paulo office. We conduct research aimed at understanding macroeconomic developments and improving our forecasts of growth, inflation, labor markets, fiscal accounts and central bank policy. Our forecasts and research reach a wide audience of decision makers inside J.P. Morgan, our clients around the world, and through frequent media coverage.
In this role, you will partner with various internal parties and provide up to date, industry leading research. You will be working closely with the economists on analyzing data, building models and writing research reports as well as responding to internal and external client requests. You will be able to recognize critical data points, analytical concepts and come to a logical conclusion through the process.
Qualifications:
Post-graduate degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in economicsMinimum 4 year of experience as an economist at a private financial, multilateral or public institutionStrong analytical skills in macroeconomics and econometricsDeep knowledge of models, programing and data science Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong attention to detailExcellent problem solving and time management skillsAdaptability and ability to work well under pressure and meeting tight deadlinesSelf-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independentlyFluency in English and Portuguese
