This vacancy is located in the Washington Parish Economic Stability Office in Bogalusa, LA. Minimum Qualifications Six years of economic stability social services experience; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of economic stability social services experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of economic stability social services experience; OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus two years of economic stability social services experience. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: This is a supervisor position responsible for coordinating the overall operations and programmatic functions of a single Economic Stability Office in Washington Parish. The position ensures, through monitoring and review of individual analyst workloads, the accuracy and timeliness in the provision of benefits provided to the community. Typical duties in this role may include: + Supervise Social Service Analysts and Economic Stability Specialists in a specified unit + Review subordinates work and cases for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in determining eligibility for SNAP, Family Independence Temporary Assistance, Kinship Care Assistance, and STEP program benefits + Provides policy clearances and interpretations to subordinate staff by maintaining a detailed understanding of the multiple programs, including relevant policies, by independently reviewing policy and procedure updates, and develop and present staff training + Creates and compiles statistical and management reports as required by policy, and regional or parish leadership, to document unit or parish activities + Ensure the establishment of relationships with community providers to best link clients to services, to expand and strengthen services for clients and to ensure the process of referring clients to partners is effective + Maintain a state of readiness to respond to disasters Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee. Works Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
