Summary
Job Description:
Five, 8-hour shifts per week. Shift time may vary depending on staggered staff schedule. Shift start time will range between 0700 and 0800.
Will rotate weekends and on call shifts. Weekday call begins at 1700 and ends at 0630. Weekend shift is 0800-1630.
On call shifts and weekend shifts will be evenly rotated through all staff.
Under the direction of a cardiologist, performs diagnostic sonographic procedures at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment. May be assigned as a preceptor in areas of specific competence. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality as a sonographer.
Selects appropriate equipment and proper technical factors on an individual patient basis according to specific orders and part of body examined.Provides technical skills as required for testing (Intravenous access and contrast administration).• Assists patient in assuming physical position for required examination.Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.Reviews patient chart and results of previous diagnostic studies and records patient’s personal and medical information.Requirements:
Technical Diploma required /Ultrasound preferred1 year of experience can substitute for a Technical Diploma.Professional License or CertificationBLS mandatory.Background in Structural heart procedures and babies preferred.Benefits:
