Early Professional, Junior Water Resource Engineer
Provide support and contribute to surface water resource projects; storm water management, hydrology studies / modelling, river design and water intakes. + Develop water and salt balances for mining and industrial clients. + Give input on water components for EIA’s and mine waste management projects. + Provide hydrological inputs hydrological modelling studies + Conduct climate assessments and analysis + Conduct data analysis and assessments. + Develop high quality project and design technical reports for clients. + Prepare Macros on Excel for data interpretation, reporting and management HEALTH AND SAFETY: + Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you + Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm + Embracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times + Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. + Masters degree or PhD in Hydrology + MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Projects, Use and proficiency of hydrological modelling, climate analysis and water balance software **KEY COMPETENCIES AND GENERIC SKILLS:** + The employee has well developed general technical skills. + Displays strong project management and report writing skills. + Takes direction from and supports intermediate and senior staff to achieve project and business goals. + Displays personal leadership in completion of work tasks. + Makes basic decisions with input from intermediate and senior staff. + Contributes to projects with a major focus on data collection and processing with an increasing role in analysis and interpretation. + Has an aptitude and interest in model development and application. + Contributes to sections of reports including description of investigations, results and analysis. + Employees focus on setting a positive example by identifying and reporting hazards, near misses and incidents. + Displays a ‘safety first’ focus and is setting a positive example by identifying and reporting hazards, near misses and incidents. **ATTRIBUTES:** + Demonstrated ability in water resources including hydrology, water balance, water supply feasibility and water reuse
