POSITION: Early Childhood Instructor (Tot Spot)

REPORTS TO: Facility Manager

EMPLOYEE TYPE: Part Time/ NON-EXEMPT

SUMMARY

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Early Childhood Instructor at the ComEd Recreation Center. Under direct supervision, the Early Childhood Instructor develops class curriculums and provides instruction to participants ages 1 – 5 years old along with parent participation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Instructs scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate and effective lessons

Ability to prepare detailed lesson plans and activities for a class period

Lead the instruction of Tot Spot participants, according to the approved lesson plan, in a fun environment while teaching specific dance techniques

Maintain a positive, safe and nurturing environment

Ensures that safety standards are met, and department and facility policies are adhered to

Provide positive and professional communication with parents and guests

Ensure the safety of all participants during classes and performances, and report any problems, unsafe conditions, behavior issues and accidents to the management

Maintain Class log and attendance

Complete other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand and possible sit for long periods of time. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally must aide or assist participants. The employee must have the endurance to complete the instruction of the assigned fitness program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of one year teaching experience

Experience working with students ages 1 – 5

Minimum age of 18.

Early childhood experience not required, but preferred.

Ability to maintain a positive and SAFE environment for all students

Be able to communicate with parents

Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn

HOURS:

Tuesday & Thursdays from 09:30AM - 12:00PM

This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

HOURLY RATE:  $19.00
