The role:
Our client is seeking a seasoned EAI Engineer to support the growth of its hydrogen business line. Based in Belgium, you’ll join a dynamic engineering team focused on instrumentation, automation, and electrical systems for international hydrogen projects. The role spans design, specification, supplier coordination, and commissioning support for both FEED and detailed engineering phases.
Responsibilities:
Develop and review P&IDs based on process inputs
Prepare specifications and lead technical discussions with clients and suppliers
Execute instrumentation and basic electrical design for hydrogen production systems
Specify instruments, prepare datasheets, and develop I/O and instrument lists
Define power distribution philosophy, load lists, and single-line diagrams
Assess technical compliance and manage deviation lists
Conduct HAZOP studies and participate in risk assessments
Support supplier follow-up, material receipt, FAT and SAT
Produce cable schedules, cable tray layouts, and wiring diagrams
Maintain engineering documentation and develop design templates
Support the drafting of commissioning procedures
Stay up to date with technological advances in the hydrogen sector
Qualifications:
Engineering degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation
Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial process engineering
Strong knowledge of process instrumentation and control principles
Familiarity with power distribution and LV electrical systems
Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, or related industries
Knowledge of standards such as IEC, NEC, Functional Safety, EMC, ATEX, and API
Fluency in English and French
Proficient in MS Office, Teams, and SharePoint
Strong organizational, teamwork, and multitasking skills
