E&I Quality Assurance Inspector

Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an E&I Quality Inspector to join their team on a 1-year contract in the Fort McMurray area (fly in/fly out).
The E&I Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation installations, inspections, and testing comply with project specifications, industry codes, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: Perform inspections on electrical systems (e.g., wiring, panels, transformers, switchgear) and instrumentation (e.g., control systems, transmitters, gauges). Verify compliance with CSA, NEC, IEC, API, and other applicable standards. Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality control documentation, and work procedures. Conduct pre-installation, in-process, and final inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications. Monitor calibration, loop checks, continuity testing, and functional testing of instruments. Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs) and track corrective actions. Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve quality issues. Ensure all safety and quality protocols are followed per company and regulatory requirements. Maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and as-built documentation.
Qualifications & Experience: Certification: CWB, CSA, or equivalent E&I inspection certification preferred. Experience: 5+ years in E&I inspection within oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC, CEC), instrumentation standards (ISA, API), and hazardous area classifications (ATEX, Class 1 Div 1/2).
