**The Opportunity**
The DVP Product Development oversees a large, multi-site organization responsible for developing products to grow or enhance the division's product portfolio and ensure market compatibility. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing and evaluating goals for the department. At Abbott Structural Heart, our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.
**What You’ll Work On**
+ Develop and implement short- and long- term strategic plans for Product Development to ensure global Product Development Engineering and overall business objectives are met.
+ Partnering with other departments, identify needs and demands, understand technologies and trends, and deliver innovative and optimal technology solutions that will support the execution of Product Development Engineering strategy.
+ Collaborates cross-functionally with IT, Finance, R&D, Quality, Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory and other functions as needed to ensure effective commercialization of new products.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with the Operations, Quality and Supply Chain functions to ensure effective development of significant new processes that impact these areas.
+ Oversee effectiveness of manufacturing systems and procedures to ensure compliance to FDA, GMP, and all other applicable agency regulations.
+ Support all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
+ Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback. Sets goals which align to department plans and manages the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring. Maintains a safe and professional work environment.
+ Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
+ Ability to travel approximately 30%, including internationally.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
+ Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in a high-volume, multi-product, global manufacturing environment.
+ Minimum 5 years in a hands-on product development technical role.
+ Track record of innovating effectively in a big company environment and delivering safe and effective product solutions on budget and on time.
+ Ability to provide technical guidance to engineering teams in innovating solutions for treatment of complex disease states.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master's Degree in a related field.
+ Experience in design and development of devices for treating structural heart diseases highly preferred.
+ Significant experience leading process development engineering and infrastructure organizations.
+ Significant experience in identifying and driving Operational change and excellence.
+ Exceptional leadership and people management skills, including demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop employees.
+ Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
+ Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.

The base pay for this position is $247,300.00 – $494,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
