The Duty Engineer provides frontline technical supervision and hands-on engineering support for facility operations and maintenance. This role ensures continuous operation of building systems, responds to technical issues, and supervises maintenance activities during assigned shifts, including after-hours and weekend coverage.

What this job involves:

Shift-Based Technical Supervision

Assist Engineers and Building Surveyors in performing their duties

Supervise Frontline Team personnel engaged in the provision of technical services

Ensure service delivery complies with SLAs, statutory requirements, and ordinances

Maintain high standards of work quality during assigned shifts

Maintenance Coordination

Supervise preventive maintenance work progress and ensure timely completion

Distribute work requests to frontline technical team and track completion

Arrange frontline technical team to conduct first response, minor repairs, and routine monitoring

Execute operational preventive maintenance works during shifts

Equipment Oversight

Carry out routine checks for correct operation of all control equipment

Implement daily/weekly servicing plans

Conduct routine checks of equipment in locations that include BMS control systems

Provide technical support/advice to frontline personnel on building services issues

Contractor Management

Assist management in supervising work performance and quality of vendors and contractors

Monitor maintenance contractors to ensure they perform services on time

Report on contractor activities during shifts

Emergency Response

Attend to technical emergencies during assigned shifts

Handle typhoon-related duties as required

Perform overtime work when necessary

Work in 24/7 operation in shift duty including public holidays/Sundays

Provide 24/7 emergency call support and site attendance when required

Additional Duties

Handle other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Support special projects or tasks as needed

Working Conditions

Shift-based position covering 24/7 facility operations

Works evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays according to shift schedule

Must be available for emergency response situations

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills

Diploma/Higher Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical/Building Service Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 8 years of work experience in FM/PM

At least 5 years of relevant experience in E&M operation and maintenance works

Registered electrical worker with license B0 or above

Proficient in computer applications

Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese

Strong communication skills

Ability to work independently under pressure with minimal supervision
