Job Description
Coordinate durability vehicle testing for the Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car, VAN and AMG durability test fleets in the United States. The main focus is to create high quality test results, with high efficiency, and in the shortest possible time. Key targets of the durability testing include the evaluation of the overall vehicle, and the validation of the powertrain and drivetrain systems, including software validation, hardware validation, OBD diagnostics, and emissions testing.
Responsibilities
Manage mileage accumulation (driving profile, locations, required maintenance, etc.) of 15-20 vehicles in the durability testing programs.Lead service supplier business development with external providers to maximize work quality, perform capacity planning and staffing, and minimize costs.Monitor and control work output and associated driver testing for all service providers.Monitor the technical status of vehicles and identify faults based on driver reports and diagnostic tools.Evaluate faults and lead problem-solving activities, including 1st level technical analysis and detailed analysis for overall vehicle issues.Act as a technical lead for other team members to expedite the resolution of fleet durability issues.Report vehicle status, both technical and administrative, in all necessary forms and databases, and document technical durability status within the FINAS database.Maintain internal Key Process Indicators for local management to monitor current status and forecast necessary future changes for durability testing planning.Propose and manage root cause identification and vehicle repair processes promptly to enable continuation of vehicle testing and validate solution effectiveness.Control the complete process from part logistics to effectiveness checks, including workshop orders in PIT.Lead weekly and monthly meetings and reports with international customers and internal cross-divisional status meetings related to durability testing topics.Control detailed invoices from external durability service providers and internal partners.Control and oversee program budget, report USD/km, and approve monthly billing per program.Lead budget forecasting and capacity planning for the durability team.Actively participate in continuous process improvements for internal and external processes.Enable service suppliers to prepare for future requirements and lead preparations.Lead process documentation, corrective action reports, process improvements, and audit participation.Essential Skills
Detailed knowledge of automotive technology, vehicle architecture, assembly structure, modules, and parts.Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle functions.Familiarity with common diagnostic tools (tele diagnosis, INCA, Videamo/Ecoute, Monaco) and ability to interpret diagnostic data.Experience with CAN bus systems and ECU design.Ability to control projects from conceptualization to implementation with a clear understanding of controlling key performance indicators and effective reporting.Strong skills in risk assessment to prevent project delays.Experience in an intercultural environment and ability to work in a complex organizational structure.Comprehensive skills to identify issues, analyze and evaluate problems, develop solutions, and evaluate alternative solutions.Ability to organize workflows within the TechCenter and with all external partners, especially with durability service suppliers.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Automotive, or Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor's +3 years OR Master's +1 year)Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
