Position Summary
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, operational excellence, and financial performance of the dual-brand Hyatt Place / Hyatt House Mississauga Airport Corporate Centre. The GM serves as the primary representative of ownership and Hyatt Hotels Corporation, ensuring full brand compliance, strong associate engagement, exceptional guest satisfaction, and sustained profitability.
This role requires a strategic, hands-on leader with proven experience managing complex hotel operations, dual-brand environments, and diverse revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse management team and hotel associates. Foster a culture aligned with Hyatt’s purpose of care, inclusion, accountability, and high performance. Ensure effective communication across all departments and brands. Champion associate engagement, development, and retention initiatives.Operations Management
Oversee all hotel operations including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Finance. Ensure seamless operation of both Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands while maintaining distinct brand standards. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and service excellence. Ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards, policies, and local regulations.Financial & Asset Management
Deliver budgeted financial results and maximize profitability across all revenue streams. Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets. Analyze financial performance, KPIs, and forecasts to drive informed decision-making. Control expenses while maintaining service quality and brand standards. Collaborate with ownership on asset value enhancement and long-term strategy.Sales, Revenue & Market Positioning
Partner with Sales and Revenue Management to drive occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR. Support key corporate, airport, and extended-stay accounts. Strengthen the hotel’s competitive position within the Mississauga Airport market. Leverage Hyatt systems and tools to optimize pricing and distribution strategies.Guest Experience & Brand Reputation
Ensure consistently high guest satisfaction scores across both brands. Actively monitor and respond to guest feedback, reviews, and brand surveys. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. Represent the hotel positively within the community and with key partners.Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and employment legislation. Oversee emergency preparedness and risk mitigation programs. Maintain accurate records and internal controls.Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including General Manager or senior hotel leadership roles. Proven experience managing dual-brand or multi-unit hotel operations preferred. Strong financial acumen with experience managing large operating budgets. Demonstrated success in driving guest satisfaction and associate engagement. Experience in airport, corporate, or extended-stay markets within the Greater Toronto Area strongly preferred. Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.Skills & Competencies
