We're on the hunt for a talented Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to join our fun and dynamic team in Salford! You'll be working alongside our Software Team Lead, bringing fresh new features to life on a well-established platform. You'll be working on embedded software development with some desktop development as required.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport innovative research into new metal detection technologies.Develop and enhance DSP software for metal detection systems throughout their lifecycle.Continuously improve software and detection performance by exploring and challenging existing methods.Work collaboratively with cross-functional R&D teams to create leading products.Drive innovation and maintain high-quality software standards using best practices.Prepare and update clear technical documentation.Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.Travel occasionally for project needs with opportunities for global collaboration.What You Need to SucceedStrong theoretical and practical DSP experience including digital filtering, demodulation techniques and signal analysis. Experience of RF is an advantage.Strong maths and physics background. An understanding of electromagnetics is advantageous.Good understanding of embedded system design patterns and software architecture.Clear communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and document designs.Strong hands-on experience of developing embedded applications software, in C, on bare-metal systems, ideally TI C28x and Arm Cortex M cores.Experience of developing supporting software in a high-level language, preferably Python, C# or C++.Excellent understanding of microcontroller architecture, e.g. how CPU interacts with peripherals and memory, how peripherals interact with other peripherals and memory, interrupts, DMA. Minimum bachelor's degree in electronics, physics, computer science or another relevant engineering related degree. Our Offer to YouCompetitive Salary26 days holiday plus public holidaysHoliday accrual scheme (earn up to 8 extra days holiday per year)Additional long service days after 5 yearsPension schemeEmployee Bonus Scheme 4x Life AssuranceFlexible working - core hours are 9:30 to 15:00 Monday to Thursday, 9:30 to 12:30 FridayHybrid working home/office arrangements (3 days in the office per week minimum)Employee Assistance ProgrammeVarious other benefitsAbout Mettler ToledoMETTLER TOLEDO is a global leader in precision instruments and services.
