Drone Flight Support Assistant
**Job Title:** Flight Support Assistant **Location:** Onsite – Pendleton, Oregon **Duration:** 6 months to 24 months **Pay Rate:** $32/hr. Our client is seeking a capable and safety-oriented Flight Support Assistant to support flight testing operations for cutting-edge drone technologies. This role is critical to ensure safe, efficient, and disciplined test operations, working side-by-side with the flight team in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, exhibits sound judgment, and demonstrates a strong commitment to safety protocols and operational excellence. **Here are the top 3 required skills for the Flight Support Assistant role:** 1. **FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate** – Mandatory certification to operate as a qualified Visual Observer (VO) during drone flight operations. 2. **Strong Communication & Team Collaboration** – Essential for coordinating with flight teams, reporting clearly, and contributing to daily briefings and mission planning. 3. **Physical Readiness & Operational Support Experience** – Ability to perform hands-on duties such as preparing drones, managing equipment, lifting up to 50 lbs, and maintaining readiness in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. **Key Responsibilities:** + Collaborate with flight team members during crewed field and flight test operations + Serve as a qualified Visual Observer (VO) during drone flight missions + Prepare and handle drones and ground equipment as part of the support crew + Assist with flight readiness checks, equipment staging, and logistics coordination + Participate in daily crew briefings and mission planning sessions + Maintain a safe, compliant, and organized operational environment + Support routine care and upkeep of test equipment and work areas + Exhibit self-motivation, accountability, and reliability in a dynamic team setting + Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure successful flight test execution **Basic Qualifications:** + FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (Required) + Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Amazon driver eligibility requirements + Strong verbal communication and reporting skills + Proficiency in using basic computer tools and systems + Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment + Physically able to stand for extended periods, perform repeated movements, and lift/carry items up to 50 lbs + Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving test environment If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
