Overview Location: McDonough, GA Compensation: $30.49/hr. Overview: Incumbent is responsible for transporting and delivering freight from third-party supplier locations to NDCP warehouses safely, legally and on-time. This position requires working in environments with variation in temperature and humidity (e.g., dry, cooler and freezer areas of the trailer, a long with changing outdoor weather conditions.) Responsibilities + Safely operates a tractor trailer truck that transports product to and from specified destinations. + Conduct a proper pre-trip inspection to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate. + Ensures delivery-related paperwork is in order before departing the Distribution Center or transportation hub. + Prepares, receives and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery of products. + Assists with the loading of trailer at supplier locations. + Detaches loaded trailer and picks up empty trailers in a safe manner into store locations. + Maintains proper logs of travel and product according to Federal, State and DOT regulations. + Maintains contact with Member Services / applicable operations transportation personnel to communicate any delivery problems or delays. + Ensures the cleanliness and presentation of the interior of the truck cab. + Conducts a proper post-trip inspection to ensure equipment is in good working order to minimize delays the following day. + Timely reports any vehicle maintenance or malfunction issues to the appropriate Transportation Supervisor. + Utilizes a high level of customer service in serving as the primary NDCP point of contact between the Distribution Center and the supplier. Qualifications + High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred + Current Class A CDL and Medical card required + Minimum of six (6) months Class A CDL driving experience. Experience driving in the food industry is highly preferred + Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) in accordance with NDCP’s hiring requirements + Ability and willingness to operate a manual and automatic transmission tractor + Ability to safely operate a refrigeration unit and a lift gate + On Board Computer/Electronic Log System experience preferred + Ability to read a map and/or follow written directions to navigate assigned routes efficiently and safely + Demonstrated knowledge of DOT regulations and Commercial Motor Vehicle requirements + Excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service mentality + Ability to work effectively in an individual and team environment + Effective decision-making skills and sound judgement + Ability and willingness to work varying work schedules, as needed, to support NDCP’s operations Email a friend this job (https://drivers-natdcp.icims.com/jobs/6000/driver%2c-backhaul/job?mode=apply&apply=yes&in\_iframe=1&hashed=-336180789) Job LocationsUS-GA-McDonough Posted Date6 days ago(7/23/2025 2:29 PM) ID 2025-6000 # of Openings 1 Category Transportation
