Drive the Future Program - Currencies & Local Markets Trading

Join Drive the Future internship program in Chile if you are a recently graduated student without job experience. This is a full-time role which lasts 18 month maximum. You will receive several trainings & coaching to develop professional skills while experiencing our inclusive culture led by our principles: Service, Hearth, Curiosity, Courage and Excellence. In this opportunity the Currencies & Local Markets Trading team is looking for a new junior team member. 

This practice will be performed in the treasury area (Trading Desk), in which you will be the right hand of the traders of the table in all issues of risk control and monitoring.

The position will give the intern the opportunity to learn about different financial products and therefore enrich the knowledge on topics such as FX, Bonds and derivatives.

As many subjects are tangentially touched during the university, it is important to have an open attitude, to receive information constantly so that it can be applied day by day in the assigned tasks.

Assist senior traders in managing risk, liquidity and neutralizing exposure. Pricing of products such as FX Spot/NDFs/DFs, Local Bonds, Bond and FX Futures, Interest Rate Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, Credit Linked Notes, Bond and FX options, among others. Support the team by providing daily market facts prepared with updates inclusive of economic research views used in the morning meetings to discuss daily strategy. Develop trade ideas based on statistical models that help to build optimal trading strategies. Responsible for accurate risk and P&L daily reporting for the trading desk. Construct daily Reports of P&L & Risk. Trade Capture and Trade Reconciliation. Deep understanding of market dynamics locally and offshore, as well as deep knowledge of different asset classes and their correlations.

Main Responsibilities

1.- Track CLP spot and forwards/NDFs, local rates (CLP and UF), sovereign and central bank curves, and key flows.

2.- Interpret market drivers: BCCh policy (TPM), CPI/UF dynamics, copper and USD moves, fiscal/central‑bank auctions, and corporate flows.

3.- Assist traders with quoting and order handling; help ensure best execution in line with internal policies.

4.- Monitor liquidity, spreads, and depth across local venues; flag dislocations and timing opportunities.

5.- Provide Sales with timely levels and market color; support live requests and post‑trade follow‑ups.

6.- Coordinate with Middle/Back Office on booking, confirmations, clearing and settlement

7.- Build and maintain spreadsheets, scripts, and quick dashboards (advanced Excel; Python/SQL a plus) to streamline pricing, monitoring, and reporting.

Job Requirements:
