Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity 

We are currently seeking a General Inspector – Drainage and Traffic Counter Administrator to join our Queenstown based Transport and Infrastructure Maintenance team. This is a hand on, diverse, and impactful role that plays a vital part in the ongoing inspection, maintenance, and data collection operations across the district.

As a key contributor to our network team, you’ll be responsible for supporting drainage inspections, managing traffic counter equipment and data, and ensuring the network is operating efficiently and safely. This position offers a great opportunity to develop technical skills, work outdoors and be part of a collaborative, high performing team environment.

Key responsibilities will include; 

Inspect and prioritise drainage issues across the network, inputting findings into RAMM Manually clear culvers as required  Manage traffic counting devises for the client, including setup, retrieval, and maintenance  Maintain scheduling for traffic counter operations  Assist the Network Inspector with inspections and service requests  Participate in in the after-hours call out roster

We are after someone with a positive, can do attitude who enjoys problem solving, working outdoors, and contributing to a supportive team.  The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically capable, and committed to safe work practices. You will also have: 

Full class 1 driver’s license  Traffic Management experience is an advantage  Technologically confident – able to use a tablet and RAMM software High level of self-awareness, resilience, and personal accountability Comfortable performing physical tasks in varying outdoor conditions  Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work independently
