GovCIO is currently hiring for a Drafter II to provide technical support to the Navy’s Fleet Submarine Very Low and Low-Frequency Broadcast Engineering Support team. This position will be located in Charleston, SC and will be an onsite position that requires 35% travel.

Responsibilities

Develops AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and LiDAR drawings and models that represent VLF/LF sites located around the world.  Evaluates mechanical installations, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of mechanical structures and materials. Understands mechanical installation equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Provides installation, technical expertise, and training for all telecommunications equipment and components.

Incorporates drawing and model changes that are dictated by equipment malfunctions, maintenance and repairs based upon manufacturer specifications and recommendations.Responsible for incorporated engineering changes to the drawings and models that occur during installation activities that relate to telecommunications function including engineering, implementation, diagnostics, and operations/user support.Incorporates changes relating to mechanical installations, and/or maintenance for local, off-site, and/or remote locations.Gather technical requirements, conduct surveys and engage with clients, constructions crews, utility personnel, and various government departments.Proficiently in understanding of incorporating changes to drawings and models that represent wiring and cabling installation and termination tasks.Serves as a technical specialist for the resolution of complex RF Transmitter mechanical problems. Qualifications

High School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

 

Must be able to pass background check to obtain SECRET clearanceDrafting support of C4ISR systems. Knowledge in areas of design, preparation and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.Understanding and/or experience desired in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and strong interest in LiDAR technology.Ability to interpret and implement mechanical, electrical installation schematics and drawings.Understanding of mechanical theory.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
