Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled CAD Drafter/Designer to prepare shop tickets for various precast structures using computer-assisted drafting software. This role involves supporting the design team on a variety of projects and day-to-day functions related to design and fabrication. You will be responsible for preparing erection drawings for basic structures under the supervision of the Chief Designer or Design Engineer.
Responsibilities:Read and plot erection details and drawings.Confer with Project Lead about shop card detailing priorities and review erection drawings and details.Create shop cards using computer-aided drafting or modeling programs, such as AutoCAD, ensuring drawings conform to standard detailing practices.Ensure carpentry shop, steel shop, and plant production have a clear and accurate representation of the concrete piece being produced.Complete a Bill of Materials from callouts on shop cards.Plot shop cards for personnel and Project Designer checking.Check shop cards against erection drawings & details for accuracy and revise as necessary.Present checked shop cards to Project Lead for their check.Scrub red-lines from Project Lead check prints.Present scrubbed shop cards to Project Lead for verification of correctness.Detail Steel Cards from sketches or markups provided by Project Designers or Design Engineers.Perform additional duties as assigned.Essential Skills:3D modelingPrecast drafting/design experience with a minimum of 2-3 years.Proficiency in AutoCAD software with a focus on precast structures and/or commercial/residential construction.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Associates Degree in Technical Discipline PreferredKnowledge of drafting, structure, construction, and design.Familiarity with CAD programs.Work Environment:This position is based in an office setting in Dinwiddie, VA, Monday-Friday.There will be occasional site visits. The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
