The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc (www.ara.com) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Drafter working in our Madison, AL facility. The Drafter will provide innovative computer-aided design and drawings based on engineering sketches and proposal specifications. This will include design, development, evaluation, and modification of systems and system-oriented products. This position will require a detail-oriented individual to digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures and/or assemblies. Under general supervision, will collaborate with the drafting and engineering team to understand and interpret their design concepts, sketches, and technical specifications.
Drafter Must Haves:
High School diploma (or equivalent) plus advanced training and 2+ years of relevant experience Possess a strong working knowledge of Solidworks and features in Solidworks drawings environment Experience in producing a drawing package which includes knowledge of drafting techniques, workflow processes, required drawing contents, and dimensioning and tolerancing Strong attention to detail and precision in translating designs into accurate technical specifications Capable of performing basic to intermediate drafting techniques with intermediate knowledge of practical fabrication techniques Ability to gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as BOMs, product/material data sheets and engineering design changes Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the engineering, design, and production teams Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges A passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively and achieve results without close supervision Innovative and creative thinker, results oriented problem-solver, with a ‘can do’ attitude Be physically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, safety shoes, hearing protection and hand protection as required Ability to sit &/or stand for long periods of time, stand, sit, stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, hold and move items with hand, multilimbed coordination, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, push and pull and lifting 50lbs independently, and over 50lbs with assistance Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance from the US Department of Defense Be a U.S. CitizenThis will “WOW” us if you have the following:
