Ferguson has an exciting opportunity for a DOT Compliance and Qualifications Specialist! This is a Hybrid role based out of Newport News, VA, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote.
The role will assist in the coordination, maintenance, and compliance with Federal (FMCSA/DOT) regulations for all associates driving commercial vehicles. The DOT Compliance & Qualifications Specialist will ensure all files and programs are consistent with Federal regulations and Ferguson policies and procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities:In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by managementDevelop and maintain required reports for the purpose of supporting proactive FMCSA/DOT complianceMaintain/Image Driver Qualification FilesMaintain required FMCSA/DOT records in WorkdayMaintain the integrity and accuracy of required recordsMaintain and process Motor Vehicle RecordsMaintain California Pull Notice ProgramMaintain/Image Authorization and Release formsMaintain/complete previous employer DOT Employment VerificationsAlways represent the company in a professional manner ensuring quality customer serviceMaintain timely and open communication with direct managerAdherence to strict follow-up proceduresAbide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations, and proceduresSupport corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the companyWork overtime as neededPreferred QualificationsMinimum one year work experience in DOT compliance preferredAdhere/have knowledge of company operationsAbility to research and interpret codes of federal regulationsStrong organizational skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyStrong judgment and decision-making abilityStrong communication skills (oral and written)Proficient in Microsoft OfficeAble to work in a team and independentlyAble to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyHighly motivated and customer service orientedAbility to maintain strict confidentialityAt Ferguson, we care for each other. Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
