Position SummaryManages and directs all activities regarding consolidated federal income tax compliance, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statutory tax accounting, and reporting, tax research, and tax planning as required of the organization. May specialize in a particular area of tax practice. This position is considered the top-level individual contributor.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage and review the US consolidated federal income tax compliance function and the corporate wide state income tax compliance function.Manage and review the consolidated annual and quarterly GAAP tax accrual processes under ASC 740 and SAP 101 insurance statutory reporting requirements.Assist subsidiary companies with tax accounting issues and provide an income tax perspective on accounting matters.Review and document income tax consequences of corporate mergers, acquisitions and dispositions.Read and interpret complex technical tax and accounting literature and prepare clear & concise tax memoranda to document tax and/or GAAP issues, alternatives and conclusions from an income tax perspective.Research and document domestic technical tax issues on various topics.Implement corporate-wide tax accounting policies and procedures.Complete special projects as necessary.CompetenciesPlanning

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
Certifications, Licenses, and Designations
Required: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
Experience
