A family of 6 who live on a beautiful country estate are looking for a switched on and reliable couple to join their existing household team. The family are in residence for approximately 7 to 8 months per year, at which time you will be required to work weekends and have two consecutive weekdays off, and when the property is unoccupied you may have the weekends off. The family do require you to travel with them to their second home in Switzerland from February to April. Working hours need to be flexible depending on the schedule of the day.

Job specification:

Butler/Driver/All Rounder:

You will be a confident driver (ideally with experience driving 4×4 vehicles), as you will be undertaking school runs for the 4 school aged children, as well as other driving tasks for the principals. When not driving you will be responsible for cleaning/valeting and maintaining the fleet of vehicles and taking care of any vehicle admin in conjunction with the principals. In addition, you will assist with day-to-day household maintenance and IT/AV issues, you will be happy to assist with and deep cleaning inside or outside the home. For more specialised maintenance you will oversee external contractors. During dinner parties/shoots you will need to assist with service and clean up.

Front of House:

Working alongside the chef, you will help in preparing and set up for meals as well as clearing away. For dinner parties you need to be confident with table scaping, managing the bar, and serving drinks. The principals are happy to send you on a cocktail making course if needed. You will be responsible for managing the pantry, drink stocks, table linens, crockery, glassware, and silverware. Ensuring everything is clean and well-polished. Help plan for and set up for events. When needed assist the housekeeping team.

Candidate specification:

This role will suit an outgoing, service orientated couple, who enjoy working as part of a team, and have a muck-in attitude. Ideally you both need to be confident drivers. It is essential that you are pet friendly as the family have 3 dogs. The need for flexibility is key along with the understanding that no two days are ever the same. There will be periods that are full on and busy with lots of entertaining, but there will also be times when the role will be quieter. This role will be perfect a couple who enjoy being fully immersed in the smooth running of a household.

 Accommodation: 

You will be provided with a lovely 2-bedroom cottage on the estate and pets are welcome.

The family will also consider a live-out couple who are based locally.
