We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Documentation Specialist to join our CGI team to support a large-scale government ERP implementation project in Sacramento, CA.
This role is responsible for producing, managing, and refining critical project deliverables and documentation that align with company, state, and agency standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in document control within IT or ERP environments (preferably Advantage), government project environments, and technical writing best practices.
This position can be located remotely anywhere in the U.S however the preferred locations are at our CGI office in Reno, NV, Knoxville, TN, or Sacramento, CA where a hybrid working model is acceptable.

How you'll make an impact
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for ERP project deliverables such as:
. Configuration and Integration Documentation
. Data Conversion and Mapping Documents
. Deployment and Transition Plans
. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, testers, and stakeholders to gather, write, and validate content
. Validate that all documentation complies with standards, audit requirements, and project governance frameworks
. Maintain version control and document repositories using tools such as SharePoint, or similar platforms
. Participate in project meetings and working sessions to stay aligned with evolving scope, timelines, and stakeholder expectations related to deliverables and documentation
. Support quality assurance and compliance reviews by ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and audit ready
. Contribute to the development and refinement of documentation templates and standards for the project
What you'll bring
. Associate or bachelor's degree in information systems, Technical Communication, Public Administration, or related field
. 5+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation roles within large-scale IT or ERP projects
. Experience working on government contracts or public sector projects
. Strong understanding of ERP systems and project lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
. Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills
. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and documentation platforms (e.g., SharePoint)
. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills:
. Knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
. Experience with federal or state ERP implementations (e.g., financials, HR, procurement). Experience with Advantage ERP is preferred
. Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project)
. PMP, CBAP, or similar certifications are a plus
Other Information:

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $69,700.00 - $134,100.00.
