Documentation Coordinator

Summary: 

The Documentation Technician is responsible for the reproduction, distribution, and maintenance of technical drawings and documents essential to engineering projects. This role involves operating scanning equipment, ensuring document accuracy, and collaborating with engineering teams to meet project requirements. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and project managers.

This role will cross train across the Central Services department; ability and openness to learn and grow is key

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Engineering Document Reproduction: Utilize imaging equipment and software to accurately reproduce technical documents, blueprints, specifications, and other engineering documents according to project specifications.

Large Format Printing: Operate large-format printers to produce engineering drawings and posters for presentations, reviews, and client meetings.

Database Management: Control access and maintain organized digital and physical repositories of engineering documents, utilizing document management systems to facilitate efficient storage, retrieval, and version control.

Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to engineering standards of reproduced documents, conducting regular audits and inspections as necessary.

Collaborate with colleagues to examine historical data to locate and retrieve legacy drawings.

Perform routine maintenance tasks on scanning equipment to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.

Qualifications: 

Education

Associate's degree in engineering, graphic design, or related field preferred. Must be 21 years old or older

Business Experience

Previous experience operating scanning equipment, especially large-format printers and scanners is an advantage.

Licenses/Certifications

OSHA 10 hour and/or 30 Hour card. BOMA, IFMA, LEED Certifications a plus.

Language Skills

Technical Aptitude: Understanding engineering drawing standards, terminology, and symbols is preferred.

Technical Qualifications & Skills

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with software commonly used in engineering, such as AutoCAD and SAP, is desirable.
