Document Control Administrator

Job Description:

Own the documentation process as it flows from engineering to supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and the customer. This position calls for a well-organized, detail-oriented individual, who enjoys a variety of concurrent assignments while working across multiple business applications. It requires enthusiasm, flexibility, resiliency, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a professional and courteous personality

Duties/Responsibilities:

Structure, release, and configure bill of material (BOM) with appropriate multilevel structuring and grouping based on input from engineering, manufacturing, and customersUpload BOMs to the ERP systemReview customer engineering drawings and accurately input corresponding BOM into the ERP system to support build-to-print manufacturing ordersConduct physical line audits to confirm BOM accuracyReview and implement engineering change orders (ECO’s) to maintain BOMs to the latest revisionsRead, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and technical schematics to ensure accurate understanding of design specifications and project requirementsWork with production, supply chain, program management, and engineering to audit and maintain an accurate BOM throughout the product lifecycleDrive timely ECO reviews, BOM updates, and documentation releaseWork with the team to ensure up-to-date documents are available at point of use, including management of as-built documentationAssist with request for quotes and proposal for build-to-print assembliesAssist with creating and maintaining documentation for current and future processesRespond to production issues and investigate root cause (i.e., BOM error, design error, etc.) and direct the issues to the appropriate team for correctionsAssist as backup for the purchasing department

Skills & Qualifications:

BA or BS degree and/or minimum 3 years’ experience in document control or configuration management highly preferred, preferably in an electronic and/or contract manufacturing environmentHighschool diploma or equivalency requiredExperience in processing engineering, production, and document changesHands-on ERP/MRP system experience; knowledge and experience in SAP is preferredProficient with Excel, including importing and exporting data from ERP systems or using SQL query for analysis highly preferredKnowledge or experience using SolidWorks is a plusKnowledge or experience working with vendors for OEM or manufactured parts is a plusKnowledge of multilevel bill of material hierarchy and product release cycle as it relates to the creation and change management of parts and BOM structuresExcellent written, oral communication and organizational skillsAbility to work with a high workload with interruptions and deadlinesMust have a service-oriented attitude to all levels of personnel

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
