Volt is Hiring a Machinist in South Gate, CA
As a Machinist, You Will:
Load and unload parts in 2–5 axis CNC/automated mill and lathe machines to produce complex aerospace components. Perform in-process inspections using shop math and hand measuring tools. Conduct deburring operations and basic machine maintenance (coolant/lube levels, cleanliness). Operate mills, grinders, and CNC equipment. Respond to machining process quality cues (e.g., surface finish) to ensure product quality. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications. Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a one-year certificate from a college or technical trade school is preferred. Candidates with trade school certification and a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply — training will be provided. 1+ years of related experience and/or training is a plus. Experience in manufacturing is preferred but not required. Ability to work safely under functional safety guidelines (PPE, equipment interaction). Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance) or willingness to learn. Ability to perform basic machine setup, tool selection, and offset adjustments. Capable of operating two lathes simultaneously and managing tool wear. Maintain SPC control and machine accuracy through first-run proofing. Perform inspections using tools such as height gauges, bore gauges, and profilometers.Full-Time Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Schedule: 2nd shift – 2:30 PM to 3:00 AM (Must be available for OT/Weekends)
Pay: $17.00-$22.00 Per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
