Program Summary
KBR sustains the operational well-being of U.S. armed forces at Djibouti, Africa, Camp Lemonnier Naval
Base. Our services encompass program management, contingency and expeditionary, asset management
and recreation support, postal operations, safety services, logistics, and more. KBR ensures the base
operate smoothly, allowing deployed personnel to focus on mission execution.
Job Summary
The candidate will be responsible for supervising Port and Terminal Operations Service and Hazardous Material Control Management Service. Candidate will be working directly with both military and civilian customers on cargo-movement documentation ensuring 100% accuracy in accountability and reporting. Candidate will provide guidance and oversight of the following: Cargo Processing, Customs, Border Clearance and Agriculture Inspections, In-Port Ship Replenishment, Import Tax Exonerations and CHRIMP)
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Plans, organizes and leads day to day activities of one or more departmental or functional activities.
+ Responsible for implementing training requirements and monitoring employee performance.
+ Establishes production standards, monitors compliance, and recommends operational improvements.
+ Assist the manager in accomplishing the short- and long-term goals for the department/function.
+ Maintains employee compliance with safety policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations. Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree and 5-7 years of experience
+ Coordinates the interface between logistics functions such as transportation, maintenance and warehousing to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective support to the customer.
+ Excellent customer relations, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
+ Responsible for the movement of over Navy Personnel and Mail for delivery to In-Port Ship Replenishment
missions at the Port Djibouti
+ Prepared employee justifications package for submission to Camp Security for access to unclassified government
+ Ensures awareness and monitors employee compliance with all applicable functional directives, safety regulations, company directives, policies, and procedures.
+ Responsible for defining training requirements, developing employee skills, and promoting continuous improvement. Supervises and provides operational oversight of personnel
Basic Qualifications
+ Successful candidate will possess at least 5-10 years’ experience in in the same or related field
+ Undergraduate degree preferred in Logistics or related field.
+ Excellent Computer skills – MS Office Suite
+ Additionally, candidates must have physical capability to lift at least 50 pounds.
+ Must have supervised a staff team of 10 or more personnel with good leadership skills.
+ Process improvement service improvement techniques and methodology desired
+ Excellent customer relations, communication, leadership, and inter-personal skills.
+ In depth knowledge and understanding of PWS and Defense Travel Regulations
+ Must be a US Citizen
+ Ability to acquire necessary Permission to access required Government Systems providing cargo intransitivity within the Defense Transportation System (FACTS, LTS, SMS, GATES etc.)
+ Preferred Qualifications
+ Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with multiple interruptions/distractions.
+ Preferred candidate military career field 2T0/88N - Traffic Management
+ Current Hazardous Material Certification IAW AFMAN 24-604.
+ Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
+ Must possess a driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
