**Job Summary and Qualifications**
**What you will do in this role:**
The role of the Division Director of Trauma Operations works directly with the Division Vice President of Trauma. The DDTO will assist with strategic planning and support projects and initiatives at the division level; including but limited to data analysis, problem solving and coordinating the implementation of processes to ensure regulatory compliance with the American College of Surgeons and the respective State Trauma designating body.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ You will be responsible for ensuring each North Texas Division trauma center is in a state of continuous survey readiness. This is accomplished by working with facility leadership to complete the trauma readiness model, and continuous monitoring during the designation/verification cycle.
+ You will serve as an HCA Trauma Surveyor team member on all surveys related to the trauma readiness model.
+ You will provide oversight of the compliance related certifications of each facility, partnering with facility level trauma educators and/or division educators. Ensure the availability of trauma related certification classes for the division to include but not limited to TNCC and ENPC. This may also include providing course direction as needed and the development of new educational programs.
+ You will participate in Clinical Service Group (CSG) committees, enterprise-wide committees, and division committee work group(s) as directed by the DVP of Trauma.
+ You will review trauma registry cases for trauma center survey-readiness for accuracy, timelines, performance improvement case reviews, meeting minutes, appropriate filter/complication capture and event resolution.
+ You will orient new trauma program staff to the trauma performance improvement module in the trauma registry, Phoenix, and other trauma related platforms.
+ You will collaborate with facility trauma program leadership to ensure local, State, and National regulatory compliance reports are submitted timely.
+ You will assist the onsite visit logistic coordinator for each trauma center’s ACS and HCA Healthcare trauma surveys. The onsite visit logistic coordinator is responsible for all logistical aspects of virtual surveys including scheduling of videoconferencing meetings, sending calendar invites, providing EMR access, and ensuring all required participants are on the videoconferencing line for various parts of the agenda.
+ You will act as a subject matter expert to provide guidance to Parallon and trauma centers on trauma registry inclusion criteria and data collection following National Trauma Data Standard (NTDS) guidelines and HCA Healthcare trauma registry guidelines.
+ You will work with Parallon CDRA leadership to monitor the status of each trauma registry within the North Texas Division ensuring timely submissions and data validity.
+ You will be responsible for creating, running, and analyzing division-wide reports for operational and quality reporting to division and hospital leadership. Additionally, the DDTO will assist the DVP of Trauma in presenting data to stakeholders to assist with operational or quality initiatives.
+ You will be responsible for analyzing and aggregating Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) benchmark reports across all division trauma centers to identify outcomes/processes where there is an identified opportunity for improvement.
+ You will assist trauma centers with creating data sets for single or multi-site research activities.
+ You will review data on each trauma center’s pre-review questionnaire (PRQ) prior to submission to the designation/verification entity.
+ You will ensure the quality of hospital trauma data through various means of validation. This will include single and multi-variable validation.
+ You will assist the DVP of Trauma with monitoring performance improvement and patient safety program. This will include attendance at peer and operations meetings to ensure compliance with designation and verification standards. Monitor and utilize the clinical operations and performance analytic tools to identify the trauma services impact on HCA Healthcare’s clinical agenda.
+ You will serve as a resource for performance improvement to ensure accurate reporting of hospital events to the American College of Surgeon’s National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) and the Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP).
+ You will collaborate with division clinical documentation improvement (CDI) and coding to ensure accurate reporting of quality measures.
+ You will assist the DVP of Trauma with revenue integrity to monitor the accuracy of trauma charging across the division.
+ You will assist the DVP of Trauma with business planning and strategic growth planning of the trauma service line; Including the evaluation for potential new trauma programs or escalation of existing trauma programs within the North Texas Division.
**What qualifications you will need:**
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree Healthcare related field required.
+ Master's degree Healthcare related field preferred.
**License/Certifications:**
+ Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of Texas or compact license.
+ Trauma Operations Performance Improvement Course within 6 months of hire.
+ Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) certification within 3 years of hire.
**Experience:**
+ Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Trauma Program required.
+ Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Trauma Registry required.
+ Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Management required.
+ Trauma, Informatics, and Public Health experience preferred.
