Leidos is seeking a Diving / Hyperbaric Support Lead Technician for the Diving Department to join our team at the Naval Submarine Research Laboratory at New London in Groton, CT. (NSMRL) NSMRL conducts research and investigates the effects of medical, psychological, and performance issues associated with the health and performance of naval personnel in operational and non-operational settings.

The Challenge:

Under direction and supervision of Dive Department personnel, conducts the maintenance and operations of hyper/hypobaric systems.

Within 12 months onboard, qualify basic chamber and dive station support positions such as chamber operator, communication & log person, and diving tender

Complete Research Support Personnel and Basic Course training

Support members during any and all diving and hyperbaric operations.

Support as crewmember during small boat operations. 

Perform departmental support roles as assigned

What Sets You Apart:

High school diploma or equivalent and 5 or more years of prior relevant experience

Previous completion of U.S. Navy Diver training. Navy Second Class Diver or Diving Medical Technician as a minimum

CPR certification

Previous qualifications with U.S. Navy recompression chamber operations; U.S. Navy SCUBA diving operations; U.S. Navy Surface Supplied diving operations

Experience and/or familiarity with the U.S. Navy Quality Assurance Program and Maintenance Program, the U.S. Navy Diving Program, and Personnel Qualification Standard of Navy Divers

Ability to routinely lift and carry up to 25 lbs. and climb stairs. Work may involve bending, stooping, and working in confined areas; potential exposure to low-level hazardous agents that may be of a physical, chemical or biological nature.

Microsoft Office skills

Ability to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level, but current clearance is not required. 

Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required. 

Work is to be primarily performed on a government installation.

Bachelor’s degree

Experience within a Government or military organization.

Pay Range:Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
