Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Performs all sign installation, replacement, and maintenance on all State and Federal highways in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Act as lead worker over specific district sign crews, including but not limited to, planning workload for sign specialist crews. Creates lists for crews to repair and/or install signs on roadways needing attention, making signs for crews as requested, training field employees as to proper sign installation. Uses assigned tablet to document work activities. + Performs routine inspections on all state and federal routes, including urban and rural areas with an emphasis on replacing/refurbishing missing and/or damaged signs. + Assists in maintaining sign inventory throughout the year. Helps locate and correct errors as they are found. Assists by correcting inventory problems to minimize future errors. + Ensure daily work reports, material usage log, truck inventory, vehicle usage logs, and vehicle inspection reports are maintained and turned in. + Takes lead on the implementation of road and lane closures within work group that are required for routine maintenance activities, construction projects, and emergency work. Determines exact placement requirements for speed zones, weight limits, and other regulatory signing by interpreting legal orders with established regulations.
